Who operates SatStrong
SatStrong is operated by Khan Dish Network. This policy explains the information used by the SatStrong Android app and its API at satstrong.khandishnetwork.com.
Information processed
- Account information: display name, username, email address, password hash and optional bio. A picture chosen in the current app is stored only in private device storage and is not uploaded to SatStrong.
- Location: an optional city/region derived from approximate device location or entered manually. Precise background location is not collected.
- Community content: frequencies, signal checks, comments, replies, mentions, likes, reports and optional reception images.
- Technical and security information: access/refresh tokens, request identifiers, rate-limit records, IP-derived security hashes and error logs.
- Advertising data processed by Google Mobile Ads/UMP can include IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics and consent choices when ads are enabled.
Why information is used
Information is used to authenticate accounts, synchronize user choices, rank useful reception data, provide nearby results, deliver selected notifications, prevent abuse, moderate community content, show consent-compliant advertising and maintain service security.
Sharing and processors
SatStrong does not sell personal information. Data may be processed by hosting providers and, when enabled, Google Mobile Ads/UMP. Public profile names, usernames, contributions, comments and uploaded reception images are visible to other users by design.
Retention and control
Account and community records remain while the account is active or while needed for safety and legal obligations. Expired tokens, recovery codes, abandoned uploads and old operational records are periodically removed. Account deletion removes the account, comments, uploaded reception images, signal checks and linked personal records. A contributed technical frequency fact may remain only in anonymous form after its account link, city/region and free-text note are removed. Moderation history for removed content may remain only after account/content identifiers, report details and moderator notes are replaced or erased.
Users can edit profile settings, block accounts, report content, delete their account in the app, or use the external deletion page.
Security and children
Credentials are transmitted over HTTPS and passwords are stored as one-way hashes. No system is risk-free; users should avoid uploading private information. SatStrong is not designed for children under 13 and the intended Play Store audience must be configured accordingly.
